The Latest from the B-W Household & Happenings :)

First, lots of love, hugs & kisses to everyone from the Blonde Boy, kitties and me xoxoxox

Second, I apologize profusely for seriously neglecting this blog. Actually both Mitch and I apologize.

So here is the skinny on the latest happenings in the Brown-Walcott household:

I auditioned for and was accepted to the Grand Rapids Women’s Chorus for the 2009-2010 season. WooHoo! I am finally singing again with a great bunch of ladies. Our mission: The Grand Rapids Women's Chorus is dedicated to singing music that celebrates and honors the diversity of women's lives. Drawing on music from many cultures, the Chorus strives to educate and inspire its community to promote justice, peace, and equality.

The Chorus has 2 events in the month of December!

I would be so pleased is y’all could make it to our Winter concert. We have a great selection of music and I think you would really enjoy the event. Lots of yummy treats to be shared after the music! :)

While Mitch is still searching for a new job he has stayed busy. In fact he has once again collaborated with the German company Vermona on a new synthesizer. Because it is the prototype stage, the details are being kept quiet for now. The hope is that it will be in production for 2010.

Finally, my art has taken a fantastical and fun turn into makeup arts. I am simply translating my fine art background from ink, pen, and paint on paper & canvas to pencil, pigment and paint to the face & body. To document this ephemeral masquerade I film HD video clips and take raw digital stills. I produce video clips for my youtube channel degreesofshining. I am having a blast spending time in the studio, creating these theatrical, artful, dramatic looks. In fact I recently won a contest with my Lioness makeup.

I also entered a contest hosted by pixiwoo/fashionface tv. These gals are top notch makeup artists based in London. They had over 500 entries, with lots of great artists! It is a real honor to have been selected and highlighted in their finalist video.

Okay, that’s it for now. I make no promises but hope to do a better job of posting a bit more regularly.

Lots of love!
+x*
Elise
