Remember when? The best advice I got way back in June about gardening was from the Master Gardener at the Home Despot for the Home Desperate (Home Depot to everyone else). He said "Dig in the dirt. plant stuff, and water it. It will grow..."
Now I have Green Things are busting out all over! We had a nice soaking thunderstorm last night, so everything smelled so wonderfully earthy, wet and fresh this morning. The squash and the watermelon plants are running amok. I finally found the squash has fruit. Still waiting on the melons. Peppers are coming along slowly but nicely. In addition to the Cherokee Purple, the Money Maker, Green Zebra, and Mystery Tomato plants (which I now believe to be Cherry ) all have lots of green fruit. Tonight I will pluck the green beans for dinner. It is so excited to know we will be eating something I grew from a tiny seedling. I am amazed and delighted to know I can grow Green Things.
